Welcome to the 2022 Fall Ball Registration with Orinda Baseball Association!

 
OBA is an age-based and not grade-based baseball program. Players should play in the division that matches their Spring 2023 age level, regardless of grade.

Our programs (by age-based division):
 

Pinto

Pinto Clinics are for players planning to play Pinto in Spring 2023 with birthdates between May 1, 2014 - April 30, 2016. The weekly, 1-hour Clinics will be held between 10am-5pm on Saturdays or Sundays beginning September 10th and concluding October 30th. The Clinics are led by parent coaches, focusing on teaching and building fundamental baseball skills with a potential for informal scrimmages towards the end of the Fall Ball season. As soon as possible after registration ends, your child will be assigned to a specific clinic timeslot with parent coaches based on total registration, school affiliation and/ or skill level. Please specify any known conflicts and your child’s baseball experience/ skill at registration. 

 

Schedule: 

Sept 10th, 2022 - Oct 30th 2022. 1-hour clinic between 10-5pm

Mustang

Mustang Fall Ball will be for incoming 9u and 10u players eligible to play OBA in Spring of 2023 having birthdates between May 1, 2012 – April 30, 2014.  The focus in Mustang Fall is primarily for 9u players to be introduced to player pitch games and new base running rules, e.g. steals.  10u players are encouraged to participate to sharpen their skills and enjoy America’s National Pastime.

Practices will be held starting after Labor Day, with scrimmages versus Moraga, Piedmont and Orinda starting in October.  One practice per week will be scheduled.  Games will be on Sundays in the 10 am to 3 pm window.  Game locations will primarily be at Del Rey and Joaquin Moraga fields.  There are no playoffs or standings.  Our goal is skill development and preparation for Spring 2023.

 

Schedule: 

Practice - Once per week, starting after Labor Day.
Games - One per Sunday, starting 10/1.
Season Ends - Sunday, Oct 30th (tentative)

Mustang 10u 680 Evaluation Clinics

Mustang 10u 680 Team Selection will be held through a combination of Fall 680 Clinics and Evaluations.  680 Clinics for players with birthdates between May 1, 2012 – April 30, 2014 will be held on Wednesdays at Wagner Ranch, with an evaluation day on Saturday, October 8th.  We encourage you to attend as many Clinics as possible, especially if you can not attend evaluations on October 8th.  

Note: Playing Fall Ball is NOT a prerequisite for 10u 680 Teams.  Look for a separate email regarding OBA’s evaluation process for information on the 680 League.

 

Schedule: 

Clinics - Wednesdays, starting Sep 14th to Oct 12th
Evaluations - Sat, Oct 8th, afternoon start (2 pm - 4 pm)

Fees:

Bronco

Bronco Fall Ball Is for players with birthdates between May 1, 2010 and April 30, 2012.  Bronco teams practice one day a week (usually Monday - Thursday) and will play one game a weekend (usually Sunday afternoons). Practices will begin the week of September 12th,  with games running September 18 through Oct 30th..

11u and 12u 680 Evaluation Clinics 

For 11u and 12u players interested in trying out for the Spring 2023 680 Bronco Teams.  The clinics will be 1x per week on Wednesdays at Wagner Ranch.  There will be an evaluation day at the conclusion of the clinics on Oct 8th.  The clinics will be led by coaches from the OBA paid coaching program.

Pony

Pony Fall Ball is for players with birth dates between May 1, 2008 - April 30, 2010. Pony Fall Ball will be a clinic style format focusing on fielding, arm strength, pitching mechanics, and hitting with OBA paid coaches. We will use Sports Field A and its batting cages. One practice a week on Tuesdays or Thursdays, and a Saturday inter squad, scrimmage, or practice. 

Please indicate your interest in 680 tryouts during registration. Participation in Fall Ball is not mandatory for 680 consideration, but will strongly be used for evaluation purposes.

Tuesdays 4:15-6:00 or Thursdays 4:15-6:00, Saturdays 9-10:30 or 10:30-12
