Spring 2019 Bronco 680 Team Tryouts

680 Bronco Team Tryouts

Welcome to the 2019 OBA Bronco 680 registration pages.  Bronco tryouts are scheduled for:

  • Saturday October 6 (1:00 pm)
  • Saturday November 10 (10:00 am)
  • Sunday November 11 (optional scrimmage, if there is sufficient interest by coaches and players)

All Bronco players must attend either October 6 or November 10 tryout.

On the next page, you will enter relevant information in order to register players for the October and November tryouts.  Sometime after the November tryouts, the Bronco commissioner will meet with OBA's 680 League Liaison, OBA President, OBA Vice President and prospective 680 coaches in order to determine the rosters of the 11U and 12U teams.

The formation of the roster for the Bronco 680 teams is determined by several factors, including tryout scores from the independent Pony evaluators, stats from previous seasons, commitment history, written evaluations from coaches from previous OBA seasons, team chemistry and baseball positions needs.  We acknowledge that there is historically, a great deal of discussion after the selection of the 680 team, but we ask the community to remember that there are typically more qualified players than available roster spots.  In addition, we ask everyone considering the 680 Diablo League teams to remember that the Board Members, commissioner and coaches are doing their best to place kids in the best situation to succeed.  The 680 teams from Orinda have traditionally been above average in the Diablo league, but do keep in mind that OBA is community based organization, run by volunteers.  One of the primary goals of OBA is to provide an opportunity for baseball for the kids of the community that is a balance of competitive and fair.
